The Builder Hut Developer Portal
Builder Hut is a hosted platform for building and running an online store. This portal is where designers author the website templates those stores are built from.
Design templates
Build page layouts from a component library, with your own design system, reusable components and responsive breakpoints.
Preview against real data
Populate a template with demo products, categories and collections, then preview exactly what a shop owner would see.
Submit to the gallery
Send a finished template for review and publish it to the Builder Hut theme gallery for shop owners to import.
AI credits
The portal itself is free to use. AI-assisted authoring — generating and editing page layouts from a prompt — is metered in credits, bought as one-time packs rather than a subscription. Current pricing in your local currency is shown before you confirm any purchase.
- How credits are used
- Credits are deducted as AI authoring runs. They do not expire and are added to your balance as soon as the payment clears.
- Refunds
- Unused credits may be refunded at our discretion where a purchase was recent and clearly mistaken. Credits already spent cannot be, because the AI processing has already been performed.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller for Builder Hut. Paddle is the seller named on your invoice, collects the payment, and is responsible for any sales tax or VAT due on it. Full details are in our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
